Here are some items and books that I recommend. For your convenience, I have done some shopping on the Internet, and have found some items that might interest you. However, I am very hip on saving the client money and at the same time promoting that Feng Shui can work with any style or religion. Its effectiveness is not based on turning your house into something that is natural to the Chinese culture but is foreign to your particular way of life or value system. Feng Shui works with any style--just remember to add intention to every action!

Here are some brainstorms that I have discovered (wherever you live) that can support an alternative and inexpensive way to fill your Feng Shui shopping bag:

Local bead stores: There you may purchase individual glass beads for a few cents and using only one bead for each "Chi catcher" (an object to hold in the "life-force" of any particular Feng Shui Life value symbolically) you may tie this with two inches of fishing line and attach it to the ceiling with a white thumb tack. This is a very inexpensive and virtually invisible way to create a "Chi catcher." You do NOT need to turn your home into a New Age shop to have this very important and symbolic step in Black Hat Feng Shui honored. 

Local Discount Stores: Instead of buying expensive mirrors, go to a Discount Auto, Wal-mart, Walgreens, or other discount stores to purchase inexpensive automobile mirrors. These are small, round, self-adhesive mirrors.  I especially recommend this for the person who rents. Automobile mirrors are convex, so a small mirror will reflect a large space. Perfect when space and money are at a low. You may also make these little eye-sores more attractive with creative artistic ideas that surround and make them the reflective center of an artistic expression.  Don't forget either that bells for mystical alarms, fabric for "hippie cures", drain covers, some garden anchors and fountains can all be found at more inexpensive prices at such stores as I listed above.

Local Bookstores: They may either already carry the Feng Shui books that I recommend in the bibliography or will order them for you. I always strongly recommend supporting your local independent bookstores whenever necessary, but if the desire is strong and you are ready to dive into this particular school of Feng Shui study yesterday, all these books can be found on Abebooks.com except mine.
